Enhancing Recycled Plastics with Additive Solutions

June 17, 2026

11:30 to 12:30

Abstract

Recycle streams present Inherent challenges such as polymer degradation, contamination, odor, and mixed feedstocks which limit mechanical performance and processing stability.

The webinar lays out the role of modern additive technologies in restoring and enhancing the properties of recycled polymers. Key additive categories including: stabilizers, peroxides, chain extenders, compatibilizers, and odor-control agents are reviewed with emphasis on their mechanisms, application considerations, and real-world performance data.   Additional focus is given to the importance of selecting additives that support circularity by remaining effective and compliant through multiple recycling loops. Case studies illustrate how additive packages have improved processability, appearance, and physical properties of post-consumer and post-industrial resins.

The session concludes with insights on future trends such as modular additive dosing, smart masterbatch design, and collaborative efforts across the value chain to meet brand-owner and regulatory sustainability targets.
