Recently, the concern on PFAS chemicals as “forever chemicals” has put a focus on one of the most generally used drip suppressants, fibrillated PTFE, which is widely used in polycarbonate and its blends and in some polyolefin formulations. This presentation will give background on the production of this polymer and review alternative approaches to drip suppression in flame retarded thermoplastic formulations. Current techniques and future methodologies to impart non-dripping behavior during the UL 94 flammability test will be presented.
Who should attend
Formulators, technical marketing, technical sales, material scientists, academia, government authorities and all interested stakeholders.
